16 weeks 5 days

Over the four month mark and sporting a little baby bump!
16 weeks 1 day

I went to Motherhood Maternity this weekend and bought a few more maternity clothes.  I finally found a pair of really cute maternity jeans that don't make my butt look gigantic!  Score!  I bought a couple short sleeve striped shirts and a cute white and black polka dot shirt to wear for work.

I ordered a few maternity items from Old Navy a week or so ago with a 30% off coupon code.  I love the green striped shirt I found...see a theme here?  Yikes, lay off the stripes already!  :)

Picture taken at my Dad's office/apartment - don't mind his laundry in the background!

Cravings: Sharp cheddar cheese, pickle slices and baked potatoes with butter, plain 0% greek yogurt, salt & pepper.

Sleep: Still sleeping on stomach (just turned to the side a little with my knee up)

Dreams:  Having lots of crazy, silly, strange dreams - I need to start a dream diary, I could seriously write a book!

Weight Gain: 13 lbs

Symptoms: Extreme exhaustion, feeling like I could crash for a two hour nap every afternoon.  I try to get naps on the weekend when Mollie sleeps.

Hair:  My hair is getting thicker and growing like crazy!  Thanks to hormones and prenatal pills my hair gets super thick and long during pregnancy.

Fun Stuff:  Baby is about 4.5 inches long and about the size of an avocado.

Unexpected Ultrasound: 14 weeks 4 days

This morning I had my 14 week routine prenatal check-up.  I knew my regular doctor was not going to be there and that someone was filling in for her.  The doctor came in and asked me the basic questions: How are you feeling?  Are you going to find out the gender of the baby?  What are you hoping for?  He then asked if I had an ultrasound done yet.  I told him I had one done at my last appointment and jokingly said I'd love another one!

He had me hop up on the table so he could listen to the heartbeat.  He moved the fetal doppler heart rate monitor around and around and around....he was quiet and wasn't saying anything.  My heart was beginning to pound and my palms were sweating.  Something seemed wrong and I had a panicky feeling set in.  He looked at me and could tell I was worried.  He told me he wasn't able to find the heart rate so he wanted to do an ultrasound.  He reassured me that everything was fine and that sometimes it is hard to find a heart beat with the hand held doppler.

A few minutes later (what felt like an hour) the ultrasound tech came in and took me to the ultrasound room.  He immediately saw the baby and a healthy heartbeat.  Everything was just fine and I was able to breath again.  He then printed out a picture for me to take home.  Such a blessing to see the baby and to know everything is going just fine.
My little peanut!

As I was leaving the clinic I was overwhelmed with this sense of relief.  I thought to myself how lucky I am to have this baby growing inside my belly and I thanked God that everything was going well.

My next appointment is in four weeks.  At that time we will schedule the next ultrasound.  If they are able to tell us the gender we will be happy to listen! ;)

Pregnancy: 14 weeks

I am 14 weeks along today! Still feeling very tired and have low energy but the morning sickness is gone...good riddance!

(I did a video update on my YouTube channel, pretty much talks about the same stuff I am writing here.)

I busted out the maternity pants this week.  I was getting ready for work on Tuesday and none of my dress pants were fitting.  I knew that in the very back of my closet there were a pair of black maternity dress pants calling my name.  Putting them on was a dream.  They are the secret fit collection from Motherhood Maternity and they are definitely the most comfortable pants I have EVER owned.

I have been guzzling water like nobody's business lately.  Especially in the evenings after dinner for some reason.  This is not good because I end up waking up every two hours to go to the bathroom throughout the night.  Luckily I have been so tired lately that I am able to go right back to sleep.

Another waking distraction are these crazy dreams I have been having.  When I was pregnant with Mollie I had the same thing happen.  I would have these off the wall dreams that would seem so real that they wake me up.  A few weeks ago I had one where I was crying hysterically and I actually woke up sobbing .  So strange!

I have another doctor appointment coming up on Monday.  My regular doctor will be gone so I will be seeing someone new this time.  It shouldn't be too big of a deal, it's just a regular check-up.

Here's the belly! :)

14 weeks

It's 45*F here today, which is a heatwave for South Dakota in February.  I took advantage of the sunshine and took my dog, Lincoln, for a walk.  He really enjoyed it too!
